Ukrainian born violinist Solomiya Ivakhiv is a highly celebrated soloist, chamber musician and educator. Named one of the “major artists of our time” (Fanfare Magazine), she has made solo appearances with major orchestras in the United States, China, Turkey and Ukraine, and has performed at world-renowned venues including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, CBC Glenn Gould Studio, Philharmonic Hall in Kyiv, and the Concertgebouw. She has been featured at chamber music festivals worldwide, from Tanglewood and Ottawa Chamberfest to Newport and Nevada Chamber Music Festivals and many in between.
Dr. Ivakhiv’s discography includes Ukrainian Masters and Ukraine: Journey to Freedom (both on NAXOS), Mendelssohn Concertos (Brilliant Classics), and Haydn; Hummel Concertos and Poems; Rhapsodies (both on Centaur). Her recordings have been featured on streaming playlists, radio stations and broadcast networks around the globe. A champion of new music, she has premiered works by David Ludwig, Kenneth Fuchs, David Dzubay, and Bohdan Kryvopust, among others.
Since 2010, Dr. Ivakhiv has served as Artistic Director of Music at the Institute (MATI) Concert Series in New York City, where she presents chamber programs featuring Ukrainian women composers, young Ukrainians, and newly commissioned works. She is Artistic Director of the Caspian Monday Music Festival in Greensboro, VT.
A dedicated educator, Dr. Ivakhiv has led master classes and coached chamber music at Yale, Columbia, Boston Conservatory, Curtis SummerFest, Oberlin and others, as well as at conservatories in China. She was named Honored (Merited) Artist of Ukraine in 2021, her native country’s highest cultural honor. She holds degrees from Curtis Institute of Music and Stony Brook University, and is Professor of Violin and Viola and Head of Strings at University of Connecticut.
A native of Tennessee, Dr. Melvin Chen has received acclaim for solo and chamber performances throughout the United States, Canada, and Asia. Chen’s performances have been featured on radio and television stations around the world, including KBS television and radio in Korea, NHK television in Japan, and NPR in the United States. As a Professor in the Practice of Piano, Chen teaches a studio of graduate and undergraduate piano students. In addition, he is the Deputy Dean at the Yale School of Music, a role that involves overseeing academic affairs and general institutional management, and also serves as Director of the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival–Yale Summer School of Music, where he also performs. Previously, Chen was Associate Director and on the piano faculty at the Bard College Conservatory of Music and served as Artistic Director of the chamber music program at the Hotchkiss School Summer Portals. Chen earned a doctorate in chemistry from Harvard University and holds a double master’s degree from The Juilliard School in piano and violin. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and physics from Yale University, where he studied with Boris Berman, Paul Kantor, and Ida Kavafian. Chen’s notable solo recordings include Beethoven’s “Diabelli” Variations (Bridge Records), which the American Record Guide described as “a classic,” piano music by Joan Tower (Naxos Records), and sonatas and other pianos works by Shostakovich (Bridge Records), and more. Notably, Chen has performed with Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival, Bard Music Festival, and Music from Angel Fire, and more.
Lauded by the New York Times as a “brilliant soloist” and by The Strad for her “marvellous and lyrical playing,” violinist Emilie-Anne Gendron enjoys a versatile career based in NYC. She is a member of Orpheus, the Momenta Quartet, and since 2011, the Marlboro Music Festival and Musicians from Marlboro. Ms. Gendron also appears with Talea Ensemble, A Far Cry, New Asia Chamber Music Society, and Orchestra of St. Luke’s. In addition to frequently leading Orpheus, she has served as concertmaster of Iris Collective, Sejong, and Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, among others. She is a founding member of Ensemble Échappé, a new-music sinfonietta, and Gamut Bach Ensemble, in residence with the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society.
A dual citizen of the U.S. and Canada, Ms. Gendron was trained at Juilliard where her teachers were Won-Bin Yim, Dorothy DeLay, David Chan, and Hyo Kang. She holds a B.A. in Classics from Columbia (magna cum laude and with Phi Beta Kappa honors), and a Master of Music degree and the coveted Artist Diploma from Juilliard.

Since his New York recital debut in 2009 at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, William has enjoyed a career as chamber musician, soloist, orchestral player, and teacher. These performances include over 100 performances with a string quartet led by Midori Goto in tours of Asia and North America. He is Principal Viola of the American Symphony Orchestra, an Associate Musician with The Metropolitan Opera, and member of the Harlem Chamber Players String Quartet. He can also be heard in the Broadway orchestras of Hamilton, Wicked, and The Lion King, and in film scores including The Joker, The Greatest Showman, The Girl on the Train, West Side Story, and many others.
Frampton is the Artistic Director and co-founder of Music at Bunker Hill. William’s festival appearances include Bard Summerscape, Verbier, and IMS Prussia Cove, and as soloist with conductors Joseph Silverstein and David Hoose. He holds degrees from New England Conservatory and the Juilliard School, and studied with Kim Kashkashian, Samuel Rhodes, Choong-Jin Chang, and Byrnina Socolofsky. William teaches viola at The College of New Jersey.

As a sought-after chamber musician and collaborator, she performs with her cello&guitar duo Boyd Meets Girl, The Overlook string quartet, and has toured with four-time Grammy winning ensemble Eighth Blackbird, Break of Reality, Sybarite5, The Knights, and many others at such venues as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, and the Caramoor, Ravinia, Moab, Napa Valley, Newport Classical festivals and many more, Laura is also a concert curator and artistic director, having co-founded the weekly Sunday morning concert series GatherNYC, as well as guest curating for the Museum of Arts and Design, Fotografiska, and Wave Hill. She has appeared onstage with artists including Adele, John Legend, Cher, Shawn Mendes and Nas. As a devoted educator, Laura has given masterclasses and workshops at Curtis Institute of Music, The Juilliard School, New England Conservatory and countless others.
