Dear Music Lover,
I am so excited to share Music of Bunker Hill's fourth season with you! Three years ago when a small group of South Jersey arts enthusiasts got together to make Music at Bunker Hill a reality, we could never have imagined that the series would grow into such an institution.
The season starts off October 16 with former members of the legendary Guarneri Quartet, John Dalley and Peter Wiley, presenting a program of Beethoven and Faure with the wonderful Anna Polonsky. This is a truly momentous occasion to have such distinguished musicians performing in South Jersey. Then in November, Washington Township native and South Jersey favorite Ranaan Meyer returns with his band for a high energy, eclectic mix including classical music and Ranaan’s own composition fusion of all styles.
April 1 brings a very welcome visit by Principal Cellist of the Seattle Symphony (and former Associate Principal of Philadelphia Orchestra) Efe Baltacigil, who returns to MaBH to play a recital of Beethoven, Brahms and Ravel with Amy J. Yang on piano. Classical guitar star Jason Vieaux returns to MaBH on April 15 to present a program of romantic spanish guitar music...music which I fell in love with on a trip to Madrid and can't wait for Jason to share with you. The season ends on May 6 with New York chamber music stars Daniel Phillips and Marcy Rosen and myself on viola, featuring Ravel's magnificent Duo, and Mozart's magnum opus for strings, Divertimento in Eb.
I can not wait to see all of the concerts this year, and I look forward to sharing them with you in New Jersey!
