After a successful first season, Music at Bunker Hill is continuing to bring great performers to the communities of South Jersey and we are doubling the number of chamber music concerts while adding an evening of jazz. Come be a part of the most exciting new arts movement in New Jersey and find out why the community is buzzing about the exciting and beautiful performances heard last season.

Our first concert features Michael Mizrahi on Piano and concludes with Schumann’s monumental Piano Quartet in Eb. Next, we explore Bach’s beloved Goldberg Variations in a wonderful arrangement for string trio that casts this masterpiece in a new light. The Ansonia Trio brings MaBH its first piano trio concert, along with the great works written for its powerful combination.

In the New Year we begin with local favorite Denis DiBlasio in a Tribute to Duke Ellington, followed by Metropolitan Opera Young Artist Ginger Costa-Jackson and bass-baritone Eric Downs singing Opera Classics and some Broadway Favorites in February. We will conclude the season with a recital given by Anthony McGill, Principal Clarinet of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.

It is a dream come true for me to be able to bring the music that I love home to South Jersey, and I hope you enjoy the seven great concerts!

Artistic Director

Musical Theater: Opera to Broadway, 2/12 8pm

posted Feb 10, 2010 6:40 AM by Martha Frampton   [ updated Feb 21, 2010 2:02 PM by Martha Frampton ]

The show will go on despite the arctic weather we have been enduring. By Friday night, we will all be ready to escape from the house and enjoy a night of live music. Better yet, make a reservation at a local restaurant before the concert and let them do the cooking for you.
The musicians are coming down from the NYC area, so our little commute pales in comparison. Look for our feature article in Thursday's Courier Post Communities.

Wine Tasting Dinner a success on 1/31/10

What a nice evening 34 of us had at Italian Affair in Glassboro. Board members, subscribers, attenders and guests had a lovely dinner with wines paired to each course, and wine descriptions were given by Luca Cimmarotta of Neri Wine Cellars (www.neriwinecellars.com). Restauranteer Giuseppe Celano and his staff served a delicious dinner and Luca had to work hard to overcome the din of conversation in the room with the insights he offered in his authentic Italian accent. Chairs Laurie Drank and Cathy Lord selected a delicious menu and rustled up a great guest list, and Debbie Krauss donated a great set of gift baskets to add to the restaurant gift certificates and wines featured at the dinner that were given away for door prizes.

Will you help us get the word out?

Any fans who have connections to the media, please share your contacts with us at the series so we can get the news about the series to as many people as possible. There will be an article in Gloucester County Times on Jan. 12. The concerts are listed in several online events calendars. We don't have any radio or TV coverage and need some help arranging this.

This is a volunteer organization and volunteers are always welcomed. Just reply to administrator@musicatbunkerhill.org. Thanks...
